Good-bye McLoud....

As of last Thursday Jon was done serving at First Baptist Church McLoud, the church had our going away party last Wednesday and it was such a sweet time, These last two years have been a great time of growth and development for our family. Jon and I have been praying about an opportunity to go serve as church planters for a while now, and we were even talking about this before we came to serve at McLoud but felt like we needed to serve at Mcloud for a while first, and that time has come to a close. So about a month ago Jon met with the leadership group and told them where our hearts were at and how God had opened up a door for us to serve in the city (if anyone truly knows Jon then you know how Jon has had this desire to work in the city since we moved back here) so that is where we are headed! The church has been gracious enough to let us stay for up to three months here in the parsonage, but on Tuesday God gave us a house to lease that is three mile from where Jon will be working:)))) So now we are packing up this house and hope to be completely moved out by November 1st!! I will have to blog the story of how God literally provided us with this awesome house because it is a story only God could write (more to come on this later). Our main job will be connecting with college students at the OU Health Science Canter (so med students) and we will be meeting in small groups, and really getting to know them and to help them pursue God more and more. As Jon's wife I am so stoked because this type of ministry is how God made Jon's heart to beat and now God has opened a door to let him serve God this way and to pursue a dream. We totally stepped out on faith and I have cried more in the last week, not tears of fear, but tears of joy and AWE of how awesome and faithful God is. This position is sort of set up like a "missionary" meaning that we are getting very little funding. So this will mean second jobs, or bi-vocational, but even in that God is providing. Please continue to pray for us as we embark on this new leg of ministry in our lives and for His kingdom....

P.S. let me just say that we got to serve along side some of the greatest people here at McLoud and that the relationships we built there mean so much to us. I got to work with the most amazing woman of God who totally changed the way I view the nursery ministry and what I learned there will forever impact the Kingdom of God, because it totally changed the way that I serve.

Also they made us a super sweet video but I have tried to load it twice and it just isn't working...grrrr. oh well. Thanks for making it for us, it still makes me smile, and cry, and laugh, yes, all at once:)
